Colleen M. Schaller has been with Howson & Howson LLP since 2008. Colleen’s practice is focused on domestic and foreign patent procurement in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemistry fields. In addition, she regularly practices in the field of the mechanical arts, including medical devices. Colleen’s strong adversarial writing skills have led her to focus on a successful appeal practice.
Colleen also counsels individuals and small businesses on all matters related to intellectual property including trademark and copyright issues, contract advisement and due diligence practice.
Prior to her entry into intellectual property law, Colleen worked as a research associate for a biotechnology firm, where she carried out drug discovery research to identify small molecules affecting therapeutic targets in cancer biology, inflammation, Alzheimer’s disease and HIV/AIDS via novel RNA-based mechanisms. Her time in the lab has allowed Colleen to take a practical approach to her patent practice.
Colleen has been a member of the Law Practice Management Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Colleen previously served as chair of the subcommittee which produced the popular 2013 Economic Survey of the AIPLA.
